The Campus Store at Utah State University is pleased to introduce a new flat-rate textbook program, allowing a more convenient and affordable way for students taking undergraduate courses to access their required textbooks.

Beginning in Fall 2024, the Aggie Access program will provide eligible undergraduate students with all required textbooks for each semester for a flat rate of only $250 for Fall or Spring, and $150 for Summer. This flat rate will help students be able to proactively budget for textbook expenses. Additionally, financial aid may help cover Aggie Access.

In this program, students will receive access to their textbooks no later than the first day of classes. As many books as possible will be available and delivered digitally within Canvas, while all print books will be distributed by the Campus Store. Digital books automatically update in Canvas as courses are added/dropped.

"We are thrilled to launch the Aggie Access Textbook Program at Utah State University," said Jason Brown, Campus Store director. "This initiative focuses on student affordability and academic success by providing accessible, high-quality course materials to all students from the first day of class. We believe that by removing barriers to education, we can create a more inclusive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive."

Eligible students can choose between several program options: an all-in flat fee, per title à la carte, or opt-out and source materials on their own. Whatever students choose, they will have access to all textbooks for a trial period up until the opt-out (typically the add/drop) deadline. For the Fall 2024 semester, the deadlines are as follows:

• June 3: Aggie Access charges will appear on Student Tuition and Fee bills
• August 26: Aggie Access officially begins
• September 16: Opt-out deadline for Aggie Access

The program offers students more choice when it comes to obtaining required textbooks, while ensuring that students have access to the materials they need on the first day of class. Digital textbook materials will also provide enhanced study functionality, including features like flashcards, highlighting, and instructor annotations. It also offers digital study group tools, allowing for student collaboration in courses.

USU faculty will still determine which content is used in each class. For digital titles, faculty will receive complimentary e-book access.
